Why is this movie so impressive? Because it doesn't even look or feel like a movie. By that I mean that the old couple seem truly in love and to have truly lived together all those years and experienced everything together.
Jean-Louis Trintignant and Emmanuelle Riva are this movie. Emmanuelle deserves a million awards and all the nominations she can get. I cannot even believe how amazing, truthful and impossibly perfect her performance was. Make my movie heart expanded 8x with happiness and hope. Truly amazing, both of them.
Since all of the performances were 100% the movie also deserves all the nominations, awards and positive reviews it receives. A drama/romance like no other. Love it! Watch it! Do it!
